The first teaser trailer for Black Panther has been released showing the Marvel hero, played by Chadwick Boseman, in his first lead outing.
Black Panther, the character of whom made his debut in Captain America: Civil War, has been in development for some time kick-starting what many believe to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe's second phase.
Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed) is in the director's chair having co-written the script alongside Joe Robert Cole.
Other cast members to be glimpsed in the trailer include Lupita Nyong'o, Martin Freeman and Michael B. Jordan as the film's lead villain.
Black Panther will further explore the history of Boseman's T'Challa, the warrior king of Marvel's fictional country Wakanda.
It will be released 18 February 2018.
