Making his debut as presenter of the ceremony will be BBC television star Graham Norton, who is a regular host of the Bafta TV awards.
As ever, an edited version will be broadcast on BBC1 hours after it takes place at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Speaking about his appointment, Norton said: “I’m delighted to be taking the helm of the biggest night in British Film, the audience at the Royal Albert Hall will be the biggest sofa I’ve ever faced. I’m honoured to be following in the fabulous footsteps of Stephen Fry and Joanna Lumley.”
Bafta's Chief Executive Amanda Berry OBE said: "With Graham as our host I have no doubt we will deliver a very special celebration of the very best in film, and pay tribute to the most talented and creative people both in front of and behind the camera.”
The ceremony, which will occur on 2 February, will feature a performance from Cirque du Soleil.
Films expected to be in contention for awards include The Irishman, Marriage Story, Le Mans '66 and Korean film Parasite.
The nominations will be revealed on 7 January. Last year's Best Film trophy went to Netflix's Roma.
