This summer, comedy Bad Moms became an unexpected box office hit - so much so that it's spawned its very own spin-off; that's right, Bad Dads is on the way.
Not only has the film been confirmed but it will be released in less than a year with a 14 July 2017 date penciled in.
STX Entertainment - who steered the film to an impressive £147 million - said it "...has chosen to focus on extending consumer passion for the Bad Moms brand with a series of film spinoffs, a reality television show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products program.” It elaborated that it's shunning the standard sequel because they usually gross "68% less than the originals."
Casting announcements are set to be made in the coming weeks. Jasons Bateman and Sudeikis are no doubt expecting phone calls.
14 July 2017 is the same date that will see 20th Century Fox film War for the Planet of the Apes released the first teaser of whichw as released last week.
Bad Moms stars Christina Applegate, Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
