Though it's been knocked back a couple of times, Bad Boys 3 is definitely still on, with the sequel today getting a title: Bad Boys For Life.
It’s a reference to the infamous line from Bad Boys II: “We ride together. We die together. Bad boys for life.” and though it sounds a bit final, a Bad Boys 4 is still expected to go ahead.
If you read the title and immediately heard the chug of that P Diddy riff in your head, you might be assuming his song of the same name was in one of the first two films, but in fact it was another track, ‘Shake Ya Tailfeather’ that appeared on the soundtrack.
Michael Bay won’t return direct, according to EW, with Bad Boys For Life instead being helmed by The Grey’s Joe Carnahan.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reprise their roles of detective Burnett and Lowery, though there is no further cast news thus far.
Bad Boys For Life was originally set for a 17 February, 2017 release date, then 2 June 2017, and will now (probably) arrive on 12 January, 2018.
