From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After the official Marvel Studios account tweeted their usual promo asking fans how excited they were on a scale of "one to infinity" about Avengers: Infinity War, the actor responded with: "Any chance I could see it earlier?"
A few back-and-forths later and Marvel revealed the global release date had been shifted forward, from 4 May to 27 April. Of course, that's of little excitement to UK fans, who had already been blessed with an earlier release date for the film.
The Russo Brothers (Anthony and Joe), who helmed Captain America: Winter Soldier and Civil War, return as directors for the Avengers sequel, while Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely penned the script.
Though the trailers have hinted plenty (check out the gallery below to find out exactly what), the official synopsis of the film is fairly brief: "An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time."
“The Avengers and their superhero allies must willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.”
Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas 27 April.
