From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. When Avengers: Infinity War finally reaches cinemas, it’s going to be a jam-packed Marvel affair.

Not only are Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy collaborating, but various new characters are joining the two-part film.

According to Heat Vision (via The Hollywood Reporter), Peter Dinklage - who played Tyrion Lannister in the TV series Game of Thrones - will reportedly be joining the film’s huge cast.

The report highlights how - although details regarding which character Dinklage would play are being kept under wraps - apparently Dinklage’s role will be major throughout both Infinity War and the currently-untitled fourth Avengers.

Dinklage, who has been busy filming season seven of Game of Thrones, previously starred in a Marvel Comics-based film, Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, released in 2014.

Infinity War will see the titular Avengers take on Josh Brolin’s Thanos, the purple villain seen during the post-credit sequence of both Avengers films and in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Meanwhile, in other superhero team-up news, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange has been confirmed for Thor: Ragnarok later this year.

Avengers: Infinity War reaches cinemas 4 May 2018.
