Guardians of the Galaxy actor Zoe Saldana has seemingly revealed the title of the upcoming fourth Avengers film days after Marvel announced it was keeping it secret.

President Kevin Feige stated that the film's name will; be withheld as it hints at a spoiler for next year's third Avengers outing Infinity War, but at last night's European premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Saldana may have let the cat out of the bag.

Speaking to BBC News, Saldana - who plays Gamora in James Gunn's superhero sequel - revealed that her fellow cast members “...have to go back for Gauntlet later this year.”

The casual Marvel fan may not know but Infinity Gauntlet is the title of Marvel's six-issue comic book which begins when villain Thanos - played in the Cinematic Universe by James Brolin - acquires the Gauntlet's six Infinity Stones which provides him with complete mastery of the multiverse.

Should Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet be the film's official title, it's unsure why Feige believes that to be a spoiler other than giving away what won't be happening in Infinity War - Age of Ultron's post-credits scene sees Thanos putting on the currently-empty gauntlet, prepared to locate the Stones (which we'll probably see him do in Infinity War).

Saldana's reveal seems to hint that the Avengers will fail to prevent Thanos' efforts leading to an even bigger war in the fourth film.

Marvel and Disney, of course, are remaining tight-lipped however Gunn later stated to Yahoo! Movies that Saldana "mis-spoke."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 reunites Saldana with Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as Baby Groot. It'll be released this Friday (28 April) - you can read our review here.
