From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Relatively few details have surfaced about the as-yet-untitled fourth Avengers film, although a leaked photo suggests Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts may have a bigger role than expected.

The photo, posted to Instagram account KPOW!, appears to be a selfie Paltrow has taken from set, although the actor hasn't posted it to any of her official social media.

It shows Paltrow in a customised purple version of the Iron Man suit. In the comics, Potts would occasionally don one of Tony Stark's suits under the alter ego of Rescue, although it featured a red-and-silver colour scheme.

The character first appeared in Iron Man (2008) and has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since, Although Potts notably put on Stark's armour to save the day in Iron Man 3, she's yet to be given her own superhero identity.

An official synopsis for the film reads: "A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth instalment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”

Avengers 4 hits UK cinemas on 3 May 2019.
