Apostasy trailer

We're happy to launch the UK trailer and poster for Apostasy, the critically-acclaimed drama centred on two sisters born into a Jehovah's Witness family.

The Manchester-set drama marks the debut of British filmmaker Daniel Kokotajlo who was himself raised in the Jehovah's Witness.

Apostasy follows a mother (Siobhan Finneran) who finds herself challenged when changing circumstances surrounding her two daughters (Sacha Parkinson, Molly Wright) don't align with their religious beliefs.

Kokotajlo's film has been hailed as one of the best British offerings during last year's festival season with The Hollywood Reporter stating it “restores faith in British cinema.” It has also been praised for sharing an inside look at the branch of Christianity that hasn't been presented on-screen before.

Check out the poster for the Curzon release below.

Kokotajlo calls the film ‘provocative’, in the sense that he’s dealing with issues within the religion that he doesn’t agree with (Curzon)
