The clip was unveiled in the US during a commercial break in between the Grammys ceremony.
In the one-minute video, Aladdin (Mena Massoud) can be seen approaching a lion-shaped cave, similar to the one featured in the animated version.
The musical theme in the clip closely echoes Arabian Nights from the 1992 Disney classic’s soundtrack.
It then cuts to a series of scenes from the movie, including a shot of Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine.
Towards the end of the clip, Will Smith’s Genie can be seen coming out of the lamp, asking Aladdin: “You really don’t know who I am?
“Genie, wishes, lamp... None of that ringing a bell?”
Disney had previously released photos of Smith as the Genie, but the character was not blue. Smith had explained at the time that the live-action remake would, in fact, feature a blue Genie thanks to CGI, as is the case in the newly released video.
Aladdin is set to premiere in the UK and US on 24 May 2019.
