From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Following the critical success of Good Time, The Safdie Brothers have been busily capitalising on their moment, directing a music video for Jay Z and announcing that they will be remaking classic ‘buddy cop’ movie 48 Hours.
Before that project gets underway, though, the directing duo are working away on their Martin Scorsese-produced movie Uncut Gems.
Adam Sandler has since joined the cast, according to Deadline. The movie will mark the actor’s next role following the Netflix released Murder Mystery, with Jennifer Anniston. Before then, Sandler will star alongside Chris Rock in The Week Of, another Netflix release.
Scott Rudin and Eli Bush will also produce the movie, which was set to star Jonah Hill – although it remains unclear whether The Wolf of Wall Street actor is still attached.
The Safdie Brothers have since confirmed the news that Sandler has joined the project, Tweeting a picture of the actor alongside Robert Pattinson (star of their film Good Time).
Uncut Gems is set to be released by A24.
