The trailer for the much-anticipated musical drama A Star Is Born has been released chronicling a story of creativity, love and insecurity.

Bradley Cooper - who co-stars, co-wrote and made his directorial debut in the remake of the 1976 original film - leads the cast alongside Lady Gaga.

In the teaser, Cooper's character - musician Jackson Maine - struggles with alcoholism.

"Ya know, man, in the old days, I always knew you were gonna do somethin', that you'd be alright," says Maine's friend Noodles, played by Dave Chappelle. "This is the first time I've worried about you."

But when he meets struggling singer-songwriter Ally (Gaga) at a local club, things change.

"I don't sing my own songs," she explains to Maine. "Almost every single person has told me they liked the way I sounded but they didn't like the way I look."

As the trailer continues, viewers get a fast-paced look at how their romance evolves as they try to balance their careers.

The film features several songs written by Gaga with Cooper and other artists like Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson.

The music from A Star Is Born is all original and was recorded live.

A Star Is Born also features Andrew Dice Clay and Sam Elliott.

It hits theatres October 5 in the US and UK.
