The first teaser for A Quiet Place: Part II has been released, offering some insight as to how Emily Blunt‘s character and her family are coping after the events of the first film.

Evelyn Abbott, the woman portrayed by Blunt, can be seen walking through a forest with her children Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe).

As per the first movie, the family must remain completely silent, or else reveal their whereabouts to the extraterrestrial creatures waiting to attack them.

In the 30-second clip, Evelyn and her family reach the end of a dirt path, meaning the mother must start walking on twigs and leaves – and possibly make noise in the process.

She turns to Regan, who nods, after which a tense Evelyn prepares to take her next step.

The teaser ends before her foot completely touches the ground, meaning it’s unclear whether her decision results in an attack.

More will likely be revealed on New Year’s Day, when a full trailer is released, then on 20 March 2020, when the movie comes out.

John Krasinski, Blunt’s husband, directed, co-wrote, and starred in A Quiet Place, which became a runaway success in 2016.

He also wrote and directed the sequel, which will also star Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
