Netflix has announced that a third A Christmas Prince movie will be released – and this latest instalment will feature a royal baby.
The streaming service broke the news on Twitter on Monday with a message reading “Some personal news...”, along with an image of a sonogram of a foetus wearing a crown.
“Baby makes three – A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby this holiday season,” the announcement reads.
A Christmas Prince, the original movie in what is now about to become a trilogy, came out in November 2017 and promptly became a viral success.
It tells the story of American journalist Amber, who gets sent out on assignment to write a profile of Prince Richard, the future ruler of the fictitious European nation of Aldovia – and naturally, ends up posing as a private tutor to conduct her investigation undercover, while slowly but surely falling in love with the royal.
Its sequel, A Christmas Price: The Royal Wedding, followed in November 2018.
In this instalment, Amber prepares to marry Richard and struggles to continue living her life on her own terms while coping with the demands of her new existence as a royal.
Netflix’s description for this forthcoming third film reads: “It’s Christmastime in Aldovia – and a royal baby is on the way!
“Amber and Richard host royals from a faraway kingdom to renew an ancient truce, but when the priceless 600-year-old-treaty disappears, peace is put in jeopardy and an ancient curse threatens their family!”
Royal fans have noticed that Richard and Amber’s story has echoed that of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in several ways.

A Christmas Prince came out just days before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their engagement in November 2017.
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding was released six months after their wedding, which took place in May 2018 – and the third instalment has now been announced as the pair are expecting their first child together.
