From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The latest trailer for the third sequel in the ‘Transformers' franchise opens with US astronauts discovering Cybertronian on the moon, a secret kept from even the Autobots who learn about the crashed spacecraft lying on the moon.

The Decepticons emerge and reanimate, proceeding to destroy Chicago in a battle with the Optimus crew but the Transformers alone may not be able to save the Earth.

This final chapter in the story, Transformers 3, is directed by Michael Bay. Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson return in Dark of Moon, which also brings on John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Patrick Dempsey, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, plus the voices of Hugo Weaving and Leonard Nimoy.

The film hits theaters on June 29 - moved up three days to the Wednesday before the Fourth of July US holiday weekend, and to coincide with the worldwide release. Some international markets will remain with the original July 1 date and Japan debuts the film on July 29.
