Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The first trailer for the thriller Abduction, starring Twilight's Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins, the upcoming Snow White, was released April 13 on MTV, offering a look at the teen heartthrob in a post-werewolf action role.
The thriller, directed by John Singleton ( Boyz N The Hood, 2 Fast 2 Furious), follows a young man who discovers his image on a missing person's website. After he barely escapes an attack by mysterious men, he sets out to learn the truth about his identity.
Lautner's character encounters a woman who tries to protect him from killers but, not knowing who he can trust, he goes on the run to uncover dangerous secrets with Bourne Identity-like intrigue.
Abduction also stars Sigourney Weaver ( Avatar), Danny Glover ( 2012) and Alfred Molina ( The Sorcerer's Apprentice).
On November 18, Lautner will return to screens in the first part of the finale for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1. Other upcoming action films he will appear in are Stretch Armstrong, a comedy based on Hasbro's heroic toy, and an adaptation of Incarceron.
Abduction hits theaters on September 23.
