Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The first trailer for Red Riding Hood was released November 16, in time to play before screenings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. The film is a twist on the classic fairy tale, turning the wolf in the story into a werewolf.
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who shot the first installment of The Twilight Saga, the film stars Amanda Seyfried ( Letters to Juliet, Dear John), playing Valerie, who is torn between two men.
The moody footage follows the young woman planning to escape the medieval village with her true love. But the killings mount until a famed werewolf hunter, played by Gary Oldman ( The Dark Knight), is summoned to help.
The hunter warns that the wolf is taking human form by day. He suspects Valerie knows the identity of the beast. Could it be the man she loves or the one betrayed - and is she his next victim?
The film also stars Lukas Haas ( Inception), and Julie Christie ( Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).
The romantic fantasy thriller opens March 11, 2011.
