The trailer has been released for Woody Allen’s new film ‘Blue Jasmine,’ starring Cate Blanchett and Sally Hawkins.

Blanchett plays Jasmine, a mentally unstable character who arrives in San Francisco to stay with her sister Ginger, played by British actress Sally Hawkins.

Having suffered a nervous breakdown and run out of money, Jasmine fights to maintain a veneer of almost aristocratic respectability.

Despite producing a number of hit and misses in the past years, the film shows Woody Allen to be back on form.

The Independent’s Tim Walker called the film “Woody Allen’s most assured, affecting work in years”.
