Hull Truck's non-Bouncers show this year is in some ways a more powerful piece than it aims to be. Gill Adams set out to write a sympathetic account of the social and economic pressures that send women into prostitution. In fact the intimate pair of linked case studies which she has created not only avoid the it's-grim-up-North stereotypes but, more crucially, deny the audience any hook on which to hang its sympathies. Damian Cruden's staging is simple and effective. Sarah Parks and Emma Morgan give strong performances as two women forced into a profession which is no 'game'.
Assembly Rooms (venue 3), 54 George St (031-226 2428). 2pm to 3 Sept (not 22 Aug)
