Glasgow's innovative young Theatre Cryptic did well at Mayfest with this brave filleting of Francoise Sagan's dreamy tale of late- teenage seaside passion. The director, Cathie Boyd, follows the novelist's line that 'sin is the only note of vivid colour that persists in the modern world', orchestrating the pairings of her four-strong cast to a tidal score by Jane Gardner. There is no dialogue as such, but enough spoken text in French and English to point up the narrative. Sensual and sumptuously visual, Boyd's adaptation boldly captures the heart of Sagan's novel.
