Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Babe Ruth's (0171 372 3500), Radio Cafe (0171 435 9685) and Old Orleans (0171 431 9800) have all opened at O2, Finchley Road's brand-new shopping and leisure complex. Customers at the sports-themed Babe Ruth's can play computer games while they tuck into blackened swordfish and baby back ribs. The Radio Cafe serves up music and gossip (via an in-house DJ) and American-style burgers and grills. The jazz-themed Old Orleans offers Cajun and Creole specialities, including jambalaya and alligator steaks.

In imitation of the soup outlets currently much in vogue in New York, the cafe and take-away Soup Works (0171 439 7687) on Soho's D'Arblay Street offers 12 home-made soups and stews daily, alongside speciality breads, cakes and desserts - all organic. Bicycle couriers will also dispatch all orders.

The British Pullman (0171 805 5100), sister train of the Orient Express, will be offering select gourmet journeys (sumptuous brunch and afternoon tea included) between January and March next year; the trips will cost pounds 99 per person.
