Before reopening Sadler's Wells Theatre next month, Rambert Dance Company gives the regions a sample of the new repertoire it will be showing there. Manchester this week gets the revival of Siobhan Davies's wide-moving Embarque to music by Steve Reich, plus two works not coming to London: Christopher Bruce's popular Rolling Stones ballet Rooster, and a work by company member Jeremy James, Gaps, Lapse and Relapse. Bristol follows with two works by American master choreo graphers; Paul Taylor's Airs, set to music by Handel, and Merce Cunningham's August Pace, performed to Michael Pugliese's score. Both cities also get a second programme: Bruce's Cruel Garden, based on the life and work of the poet Federico Garca Lorca.

Palace Theatre, Manchester (0161-236 9922) 16-19 Sept, 7.30pm; Bristol Hippodrome (0117 299444) 23-26 Sept, 7.30pm
