Dance; EVENT OF THE WEEK
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Jackson's Lane Dancebase
It had to happen - Rolf Harris the ballet. Rolf! calls itself a "quirky, multi-layered dance piece". Rolf Harris is a bit of a cult; he is certainly a gift for the young, publicity-hungry dancemaker: he paints, he sings and he plays the didgeridoo. A company that rejoices in the name of little mishaP pRODUCTIONS (I blame that e e cummings) is staging this antipodean kitschfest, complete with Hawaiian shirts and wobble boards. At one point dancers emerge having become a sort of bearded marsupial called a rolfaroo.
Rolf! is part of this year's Mosaics dance festival. Now in its seventh year, Mosaics is designed to give young choreographers a chance to try out new work. The four-week season offers two different acts each evening with everything from club culture to Kathak.
Jackson's Lane Dancebase, 269a Archway Road, London N6 (0181-341 4421) 'Rolf!' tonight at 8pm; Mosaics runs till 29 Aug.
