Competition: Win Bob Dylan videos
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

For the 18,000 people packed into Madison Square Garden on 16 Oct 1992, it was simply unforgettable. The Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert brought together a line-up to rival Woodstock's: Stevie Wonder, Nancy Griffith, Lou Reed, Chrissie Hynde, Willie Nelson, George Harrison, Roger McGuinn, Johnny Cash and, finally, Dylan himself all turned up to celebrate the great man's career. Inevitably there were low points - O'Connor was booed from the stage - but the best moments were pure delight, and Neil Young has never been better. This week the concert is released on video. The double-cassette package costs pounds 16.99, but we have 20 copies to give away. To win, simply answer the following question:
What character did Dylan play in Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid?
Answers on a p/c to: Dylan, Arts, IoS, 40 City Rd, London EC1Y 2DB, by Fri 22 Oct. Usual rules apply; the editor's decision is final.
