IN WHICH painting by which painter can you find this opening?

Details 381 came from Augustus Leopold Egg's The Travelling Companions (1862). This well-loved image of two young ladies literally stuffed into a railway carriage was correctly identified by hundreds. Until recently it was among "The Art Treasures of England" at the Royal Academy. Now it has returned to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

The first three correct entries drawn were from: Hilary Wade of Northallerton, North Yorkshire; Kay Ara of St Oven, Jersey; and Rosie Hodge of London W6. Each will receive a bottle of champagne, as will this week's winners. Answers, on a postcard (to arrive by Wed 6 May) to: DETAILS 383, IoS, 1 Canada Square, London E14 5DL.
