Comedian Sarah Silverman said that Louis CK used to masturbate in front of her - with her permission.
During an interview on Howard Stern’s radio show Monday, Silverman told the radio host: “I don’t know if I’m going to regret saying this” before revealing the fellow comedian masturbated in front of her on multiple occasions, after she’d given her consent.
“I’ve known Louis forever, I’m not making excuses for him, so please don’t take this that way. We are peers. We are equals. When we were kids, and he asked if he could masturbate in front of me, sometimes I’d go ‘F*** yeah I want to see that!’” she said.
Silverman then acknowledged that what occurred between her and CK, 51, was different from what he’d done with the multiple other women who accused him of sexual misconduct in 2017 - accusations which he admitted were true.
“It’s not analogous to the other women that are talking about what he did to them. He could offer me nothing. We were only just friends,” she explained, before telling Stern that on the occasions she did not want to see CK masturbate she would say: “‘F***ing no, gross’ and we got pizza.”
The distinction, according to Silverman, stems from the fact that CK did not realise his influence changed once he became successful in the world of comedy - or the ramifications of his actions.
“I’m not saying what he did was okay. I’m just saying at a certain point, when he became influential, not even famous, but influential in the world of comedy, it changes. He felt like he was the same person, but the dynamic was different and it was not okay,” she told Stern, according to Variety.
As for what she thinks of CK’s uncertain future, Silverman said she believes he “has remorse” and that he can “come back.”
“I just want him to talk about it on stage,” she said.
The 47-year-old previously discussed the accusations against CK in an episode of her Hulu series I Love You, America, in which she referred to CK as “one of my best friends of over 25 years” before acknowledging that he’d “wielded his power with women in f***ked up ways,” according to Variety.
Five women detailed sexual misconduct allegations against the Emmy-winning comedian in a New York Times report, including three women who said he had masturbated in front of them. The allegations dated back 15 years.
