This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

Kevin Hart has introduced a zero-tolerance policy against the use of mobile phones at his UK shows.

The comedian's decision has been criticised after fans claimed they were kicked out of concerts in Manchester for sending texts.

One woman claims she was escorted alone out of the venue for sending a five-word text to her mother, while her boyfriend was instructed to stay and watch the show.

"I didn’t try to record and photograph anything in the arena literally sent a text yet I got escorted out the whole of the building by several members of staff," Facebook user Amy Yates wrote. "God help anyone that has a genuine emergency whilst sat down in the Arena because you literally will be escorted out if you touch your phone."

"Artists have imposed similar bans on shows in the past, with Chris Rock instructing attendees to keep their mobile phones in a locked pouch, which could only be unlocked outside of the phone-free zone."

Fans were warned prior to the shows at Manchester Arena and London's O2 that the policy was in place, with Manchester Arena telling visitors: "At the request of the artist, the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited at this event".

“There is also a no camera policy in operation. As on all of Kevin Hart tour dates, his own security, in conjunction with arena staff, will be monitoring the audience and anyone found taking photos, or using their mobile phone during the performance, will be asked to leave the show.”

The O2 similarly warned: "Anyone caught using a phone or camera before or during the show will be ejected with no refund.”

There were also reported sightings of dedicated "cell phone security" patrolling the O2 Arena on Sunday.
