Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

London's clubland (suffering its traditional Notting Hill Carnival hangover) was a little flat last weekend, but it was business as usual at Rulin'.

Graeme Park played the most innovative house set I'd heard in months. In the midst of Ministry offshoots - bars, a burgeoning magazine, CDs - it's reassuring to know that the heart of this clubbing empire still beats to a strong, funky rhythm.

For the birthday proceedings, Darren Emerson, Dave Seaman and Hybrid play Friday; David Morales, Eric Morillo and the superb Cassius Mix headline Saturday night.

They promise "opulent decadence", with each room boasting a unique aesthetic - and the action will be linked, via ISDN, to Ibiza and New York.

103 Gaunt Street, London SE1 (0171-378 6528) Fri: 10pm-7am pounds 15 in advance/pounds 20; Sat: 11pm-9am pounds 20 in advance/pounds 25.
