Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

MOVE @ ministry of sound

You simply can't argue with the quality of the Ministry's DJ roster what with Armand Van Helden, Paul Oakenfold, Steve Lawler and Deep Dish all appearing on the Technics since Move replaced Frisky.

The presence of Deep Dish should ensure that the venue will be rammed this Friday with six hours of hard bass-driven beats keeping the dancefloor fluid in the main room.

The newly refurbished Babybox is an improved chill-out area with a downstairs dancefloor - perfect for alternative beats or recharging the batteries before heading back to the main rooms.

In many respects it's the Bar room that captures the heart and soul of MoS. On Fridays the beats here are more uplifting than in the main room and it's always filled with exhibitionists, whether up on the balcony or on a platform.

Paul Jackson takes control of the Bar room this Friday and with his booth situated slap-bang in the middle of the dance floor you can harass him for your favourite tune at close quarters.

Fridays, 103 Gaunt Street, London SE1 (0171-378 6528) 9pm-4am, pounds 6-pounds 10.

THE BEST OF THE REST

GOLDEN @ the void

Golden are the region's undisputed club kings, attracting punters from across the country. This gig has been going for longer that I can remember and offers a cocktail of hard house and glamour for around 1,500 party animals. The crowd here are always immaculately turned out, but seem to get younger by the day. Boy George's Red Parrot label headline tonight without their famous boss but Parks & Wilson and Dean Melwood will feature.

Saturdays, Glass Street, Stoke (01782 621454) 9.30pm-4am, pounds 9-pounds 10.

THE NEXT BIG THING @ hanover grand

If you want to emulate promoter Roger Michaels' success, the formula is simple. Pick a record box full of house anthems in the main room and blend with rare grooves and hip-hop in the basement; hey presto, you have your music policy. Add a sprinkling of celebrities and a few dozen models before taking your pick from the queues of chic, urban party kids. Finally, add a dash of exclusivity via dozens of jostling people trying to get in and you've got a winner.

Thursdays, 6 Hanover Street, London W1 (0171-499 7977) 10.30pm-4am, pounds 12.
