Does-loving people in general let you off the hook when it comes to loving one person in particular? Or vice versa? Skylight (right), David Hare's new play, reunites a pair of ex-lovers who pose this problem in a particularly painful and revealing way. Michael Gambon and Lia Williams are superb as, respectively, the 1980s style entrepreneur and the born- again idealistic teacher in the East End. Richard Eyre's taut, exceptionally involving production is alert to all the intractable ironies and ambiguities that make this fine, even-handed play the best thing Hare has produced since Racing Demon.

You have only to the end of this week to catch up with two serious and seriously funny comedies that boast outstanding all-male casts: Our Boys written and directed by Jonathan Lewis at the Donmar Warehouse and Kevin Elyot's multi-award-winning My Night With Reg at the Criterion.
