From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Victoria Beckham has revealed she has been left red-faced after buying her mother a copy of the steamy bestseller Fifty Shades Of Grey.

EL James's trilogy of novels - dubbed mummy porn - has become a publishing phenomenon, selling millions of copies.

Beckham told the US edition of Glamour Magazine that she was halfway through the second book.

She said: "I even bought my mum the book. But every time she tries to engage in conversation about it, I kind of dodge the subject. I don't really want to talk to my mother about S&M."

The star, who has three sons and a daughter with footballer husband David, said she would not rule out having another child.

She said: "It's a juggling act - a career, family, a husband who's busy. But I'd never say never."
