Kowabunga news folks! Batman is going to team up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a crossover comic later this year.
The collaboration between DC Comics and IDW Publishing was revealed at San Diego’s Comic Con yesterday.
The new mini-series will see the heroes in a half shell meet up with Batman and a whole host of Gotham’s nastiest villains.
Writer James Tynion described the collaboration as a “fanboy dream come true”. He will be providing the words for the comic while illustrations will be from Freddie E Williams.
“I’ve been extremely lucky to spend so much time working in Gotham City, but it’s always a thrill to see the world of Batman through new eyes,” Tynion said in a statement.
“Taking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on a Gotham adventure is a fanboy dream come true.”
The first issue of the comic book crossover is due for release in November, long before the newly announced solo Batman film being helmed and starring Ben Affleck.
Perhaps the tie up between the Caped Crusader (who Affleck recently described as “America’s Hamlet”) and the pizza-living testudines might inform the new film? Here’s hoping…
