At the event 20 speakers will present their ideas and opinions about culture, technology, art and social media and inspire discussions about ideas that can "make things better." Realism in Asian Art shines a spotlight on the evolutionary relationship of Realism in 20th century Asian art. The exhibition is jointly organized by the National Art Gallery of Singapore and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Korea. Selected paintings from artists living and working in ten Asian countries during the 20th century have been grouped together for the exhibition that showcases "how this important art movement touched Asia, weaving together a fascinating tale of heroism, valour and hope, in a time of turmoil that plagued Asia during the 20th century."

Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century

Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century is the first major retrospective of works in the US in more than 30 years made by influential photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson. More than one-fifth of the 300 photographs on show have never been seen in the public eye before. They detail the period from 1929 to 1989 in which Cartier-Bresson was most productive and present a snapshot of his early works that embody "the street as a Surrealist theater" through to his photojournalist images that freeze the rapidly changing world in beautiful simplicity. The exhibition will later travel to The Art Institute of Chicago (July 24-October 3), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) (October 30, 2010-January 30, 2011), and the High Museum of Art, Atlanta (February 19-May 15, 2011).

"We Want Miles": Miles Davis vs. Jazz

Montreal Museum of Fine Arts pays tribute to legendary jazz musician Miles Davis in this multimedia retrospective previously seen in Paris. The exhibition calls on the media of film, music, drawings, paintings, musical instruments, musical scores and photographs to shed light on some of the most inspiring moments of Miles Davis' career. ' We Want Miles' explores vivid connections binding the visual arts and music together. Highlights of the show include paintings by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Mati Klarwein, and photos by Annie Leibovitz and Irving Penn. These artworks are featured alongside costumes and original scores provided by the Davis family and drawn together with music from the man that "changed the course of music history five or six times."
