As Quentin Blake receives his knighthood from the Queen today, we look back at some of his distinctive ink and watercolour illustrations.
From his well-known Roald Dahl front covers to wallpapers and solo prints, Blake's whimsical, easily recognisable style has made him the nation's most popular illustrator.
He achieves his style with a scratchy pen, "it is better if it is scratchy because if it is neat work nothing happens. If it's scratchy or textured it takes on another life," he says.
