"I took this shot on the Extraterrestrial Highway, in Nevada, which goes straight through the military base at Area 51," explains Hann of this image, part of his "Deserted States of America" series.

"I was driving past this town called Rachel, which is basically just a collection of trailers, a post office and this restaurant, and I stopped at the Little A'Le'Inn to have a bite to eat. I remember seeing this fantastic storm gather; the light was beautiful – eerie, even – so I took a few shots. I thought it was a bit gimmicky at the time, but it came out nicely."
