An exhibition of paintings by one of China's most intriguing painters, Liu Xiaodong, opens in Beijing today.

Hometown Boy reflects the domestic and charmingly simple focus in artwork depicting relationships, field workers and social gatherings.

The exhibition is at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing from now until 20 February 2011.
