Driver with child in car smashes into lorry at 80mph

A driver has been jailed after smashing into a lorry during an 80mph police chase, injuring a ten-year-old girl and her mother who were travelling in the car.

26-year-old Jake Ilsley sped off after officers tried to pull him over for an unrelated incident in November last year.

PC Jack Maguire chased Ilsley, who drove on the wrong side of the road as he tried to outrun police.

CCTV footage shows Ilsley speed over a crossroads and smash into a lorry with such force that the truck spins 180 degrees.

There were no serious injuries.
