Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Xbox Live, Microsoft's online multiplayer gaming platform, is down across the UK and the US.
According to DownDetector.com, the UK, Germany and Poland are the most-affected areas in Europe, while the United States also appears to have been significantly affected.
The Xbox Support Twitter account wrote: "We have teams working on sign-in issues on console & at xbox.com right now! This includes any error messages you may be seeing when trying to log back in after a disconnect. Please watch here for updates as available."
One gamer responded: "I've tried turning my system off and on three times. Still can’t sign on which means I can’t use anything. Exactly what I wanted after working all day!"
Microsoft's Xbox Live status page stated that service was stable - long after an abundance of tweets stated the opposite.
One gamer wrote: "Maybe you should update the xbox live status. Still shows no issues when clearly there is. Over 6,000 reports of log in issues and climbing."
