Oppo has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Find X3 Pro, after becoming the largest smartphone manufacturer in China.

The Find X3 Pro, Oppo claims, is the first smartphone to feature two 50MP cameras - one wide-angle, and another ultra-wide angle - combined with Sony’s new IMX 766 sensor.

It also has a 13MP telephoto lens and a 3MP microlens, arranged in a configuration that looks strikingly like Apple’s three-camera iPhone 12 Pro.

Instead of Apple’s iconic notch, however, the Find X3 Pro has a small 32MP holepunch selfie camera in the top left of its screen. That display features a 3216-by-1440 pixel resolution and a 120hz refresh rate for gaming.

The Find X3 Pro also has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 5G chipset with 12GB of RAM and 265GB of ROM, as well as a 4500mah battery with wireless and reverse wireless charging.

As well as the Find X3 Pro, Oppo is also launching two lower-spec devices: the Find X3 Neo and Find X3 Lite. The main differences between these smartphones are as you would expect: a slightly lower resolution (2400-by-1080 pixels) and a different camera setup.

The Find X3 Neo has the same 50MP wide angle camera, but only has a 16MP ultra-wide camera alongside the 13MP telephoto and a 2MP macro camera. The Find X3 Lite, the cheapest device, has a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP mono camera.

Instead of the Snapdragon 888 chip, these feature the Snapdragon 865 and the 756G, respectively, with all devices running Android 11 with Oppo’s ColorOS layered on top.

“Our flagship Find X3 Pro 5G smartphone combines true image capture performance with a one-of-a-kind, elegant design,” Maggie Xue, President of Oppo Western Europe, said in a statement.

“With this new series our focus was to help customers bring colours to life and inspire them to explore new possibilities with the latest technology.”

The announcement of the company’s latest smartphones come as Oppo overtakes competitors Apple, Xiaomi, and Huawei to become the best-selling smartphone brand in China.

The Chinese brand, which is owned by BBK Electronics, the same supergiant that owns OnePlus, captured 21 per cent of the world’s biggest smartphone market.

Oppo’s Find X3 Pro will be available on 14 April, starting at £1,099; the Find X3 Neo will start at pdn699, and the Find X3 Lite will start at £379.
