OnePlus has announced the Nord, its latest budget smartphone.

CEO Pete Lau said the phone would be “bringing the premium, flagship experience … to a new, more affordable smartphone product line”.

The phone has quad-camera setup, including a 48MP main camera with an f/1.75 aperture and optical image stabilisation, as well as an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a macro camera, and a 5MP depth sensor.

For the selfie camera, the Nord has a 32MP f/2.45 camera and an 8MP f/2.45 ultra-wide lens with a 105-degree field of view.

Its screen is a 1080p 6.44-inch OLED display, with a 90Hz panel, underneath which is a biometric fingerprint scanner.

Inside the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G, which the company says provides better power consumption and graphics than its predecessor, as well as 5G capabilities.

It also has a 4115mAh battery, which the company claims will be able to fast-charge from 20 percent to 70 percent in half an hour.

With regards to RAM, it has two variants: 8GB and 12GB. It runs OxygenOS, OnePlus' skin over the Android 10 operating system.

The new device will be first introduced in Europe and India, with a launch in North America coming at a later date, available in 'blue marble' and 'grey onyx' colours.

The Nord starts at £379/€399 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, or £469/€499 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, available on 4 August.

As well as the Nord OnePlus announced a new pair of wireless earphones, called the OnePlus Buds, priced at €89.

They have a 30 hour battery life - enough for 600 songs - and can apparently gain a ten hour battery life after ten minutes of charge.

They will be available in grey, white, or blue.
