Netflix is finally bringing downloads to the desktop.
The company added the much-requested feature, which allows users to save TV shows and films for offline viewing, to the Android and iOS versions of its app last November.
Netflix has now added the same functionality to the Windows 10 version of the its app, under the label 'Download & Go'.
Windows 10 users don’t have the option to download Netflix’s entire library of content, but plenty of big-name titles are available, including Stranger Things and Breaking Bad.
Users can access a list of eligible shows and films by selecting the 'Available for Download' option in the hamburger menu on the app.
The 'My Downloads' section in the same menu is where downloaded content lives.
It’s a natural but significant step forward that the majority of Windows 10 users will greatly appreciate, particularly those who spend a lot of time flying or have a sluggish internet connection.
However, Mac customers will be left wondering when Apple’s desktop operating system will get the same treatment.
Similarly, it’s currently unclear if downloads will come to the Windows 10 Mobile and Xbox One versions of the Netflix app.
