From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Apple has held its biggest event in the year, and unveiled the biggest iPhone in its history. And that was just the beginning.

In a nearly two hour presentation, the company revealed three new iPhones, a new Apple Watch and other updates.

But if you didn't get to watch the full presentation, The Independent has pulled together all the best and most important moments from the presentation. Here's everything you need to know – and nothing you don't.

The presentation saw the release of the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone Xr. The first two are the most premium phones Apple has ever made, and the latter is a cheaper and colourful model intended to broaden the appeal.

As well as that, Apple released a health-focused and radically redesigned version of its Watch.

But it was notable for what it didn't announce, too. The headphone jack is now completely dead – and other important products failed to turn up.
