Your support makes all the difference.University Challenge has been unintentionally keeping us all very entertained in recent weeks, and it doesn’t seem to be letting up if this one student’s appearance is anything to go by.
After the leather-vest-and-gold-chain sensation – followed by the great ‘sphincter preservation’ debacle – Charlie Clegg, from St John’s College at Oxford, seemed to forget how quiz shows work when, on Monday’s instalment, the theology student almost leapt out of his chair at the sound of his teammate’s buzzer.
As always, attentive Twitter users were quick to take to the site to poke fun at the contestant’s over-the-top reaction to the loud sound:

Overall, despite his alarm at the sound of the buzzer, Clegg’s stellar input into the quiz helped his team beat Bristol University by 255 points to 125. His performance was best summed-up by HuffPost UK’s Stephen Hull:
