Two men charged over New Year's Day 'axe and knife attack' murder in Plymouth village pub
Tanis Bhandari, 27, was pronounced dead in hospital following the 'major disturbance'
Two men have been charged with murder following an alleged axe and knife attack at a village pub on New Year's Day.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the "major disturbance" occurred at around 1.30am on Thursday at the The Kings Arms in Tamerton Foliot, near Plymouth.
One man, since named as 27-year-old builder Tanis Bhandari, was pronounced dead at hospital later that morning. Four other people were seriously injured and received treatment for knife wounds.
Officers said an axe had been recovered from the scene, and appealed to residents in the area to "keep an eye out" in the search for a knife.
Ryan Williams, 21, and Donald Damian Pemberton, 20, both of St Budeaux, Plymouth, have been charged with murder, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
They have also been charged with being in possession of an axe and a knife in a public place.
Police said both men would remain in custody before appearing at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday.
