Wednesday 30 May 2012 00:58 BST

A British couple who restore antiques were last night named among the four UK citizens accused of attempting to smuggle a suticase of cocaine worth £1.6m into Bali.

Julian Ponder, 43, and Rachel Dougall, 38, could face the death penalty if found guilty. They were arrested by Indonesian detectives investigating drugs found in baggage belonging to 55-year-old mother-of-two Lindsay Sandiford. It is reported that she was convinced to co-operate in a sting operation which led to their arrest. The fourth suspect is Paul Beales.
