Police name murder suspect after body parts found in flat
Police in London named a prime suspect yesterday in the hunt for the killer of two women whose dismembered bodies were found in dustbin liners. Officers said they discovered other body parts, knives and implements at his flat.
Anthony John Hardy, bearded and in his fifties, has not been seen for the past two days. He lives in Royal College Street, Camden, north London, near where two sections of legs were found by a tramp foraging through a bin on Monday.
During a search of the flat a torso was found, police said. Forensic science tests have established that one of the victims was in her late teens or early twenties, and the other was in her thirties or forties.
Detectives said they were "keeping an open mind" on where the killings took place. Detective Chief Superintendent David Cook said: "Clearly the person responsible ... must be treated with extreme caution."
