Even better, for the first year, on Christmas Eve you’ll be treated to a full bottle of prosecco, which will surely get you in the spirit. Plus, the packaging couldn’t be more festive, displaying a Christmassy scene with people celebrating with wine, so it’ll make a great addition to your home in the lead-up to the big day.
Owing to being a seasonal sell-out, you’ll want to be quick if you want to get your hands on this festive-filled wonder – if you pre-order before 31 October, you’ll save yourself £10. Read on for everything there is to know about the Laithwaites advent calendars for 2023, including price and how to buy.
Laithwaites clearly got the memo that everyone wants a merry Christmas. Within the mixed wine advent calendar, there are 23 quarter-size bottles of red, white and rosé wine. To give you an idea of what to expect, on the first day of advent, you’ll be treated to a mini bottle of the aluado alicante bouschet, which is said to be a full-bodied red. By the fourth day, it’s time to enjoy the gooseberry bush – a refreshingly dry white wine. And spoiler alert, for the first year ever, one Christmas Eve, you’ll find a full bottle of prosecco. Don’t forget that by pre-ordering before 31 October, you’ll save yourself £10.
Calling all red wine oenophiles, Laithwaites has curated a seriously impressive line-up of reds for you to enjoy during the Christmas countdown. Highlights include a rex mundi shiraz grenache, which is a medium to full-bodied red from Languedoc-Roussillon, a cabalié and a crosier nero from Puglia. As with all of the wine advent calendars, the pièce de résistance comes on Christmas Eve in the form of a bottle of prosecco.
If you’re not partial to a glass of red and instead prefer a crisp, cold white, you’ll be glad to know that Laithwaites has catered for you. Its all-whites mix is full to the brim with some of the retailer’s most popular bottles, as well as new vino for you to discover. Without giving too much away, you’ll countdown to the big day with everything from sauvignon blanc and chardonnay to pinot grigio and chenin blanc. Much like the other two calendars, there’s of course a bottle of prosecco for a special treat on Christmas Eve – because who doesn’t love festive fizz?
