Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

My style is elegant in the evening, practical during the day. At the moment my black Prada jeans (16-18 Bond St, London W1, www.prada.com) and an evening dress from Jean-Claude Jitrois (www.jitrois.com) are my favourite items.

Detail is everything to me particularly accessories; I always wear Christian Louboutin shoes (020 7245 6510), because they are the best.

I don't have much time to shop and I am extremely selective, so quite often I ask my personal shopper for advice. When I'm in London I like to go to Alexander McQueen (4-5 Old Bond St, London W1) and Donna Karan (19 New Bond St, London W1).

I can't live without my perfume, Guerlain's Jardin de Bagatelle (27 from department stores). My top beauty tip is to change face creams regularly, every three or four months. At the moment I use La Prairie (88 from department stores).

Nancy Dell'Olio will appear on 'Project Catwalk', Sky One, 9pm, on 9 January
