Alex Bryce is the Director of Services at the National Ugly Mugs Scheme. Prior to his current role, Alex worked as a senior researcher and adviser in the House of Commons for six years. Following on from a National Ugly Mugs development project, he was appointed by UKNSWP to oversee the set-up and development of the NUM pilot – he has been running the scheme ever since. He is a postgraduate research criminologist at Northumbria University and is a Trustee/Board Member for Survivors Manchester, which supports male victims of sexual violence and CSE; and Manchester Action on Street Health, which supports female street sex workers. He is also a published writer and was runner-up in 2014 in both the Personal Safety Awards as “Inspiring Individual” and in the Social Change Awards as “Influencer” for his work with NUM.
