Subscribers have been calling on streaming service to introduce new function for years

Netflix users are going to be overjoyed when they realise which new feature the streaming service has introduced.

It was announced earlier this week that subscribers will finally be able to remove unfinished films and television shows from their “continue watching” row.

Until its arrival, users had to deal with the fact that there was no simple way to remove these titles from the home screen until they watched enough to knock them off.

Another time-consuming way to tackle the problem was to fast-forward the film or episode until the end, so that it could automatically remove itself.

It turns out that people have been desperate for Netflix to fix this for some time now – and some still don’t know it’s been added.

Only this morning did one person tweet: “Dear Netflix, if I finished watching the latest episode, it means I’ve already watched everything that came before that. Please stop asking me to “Continue Watching” and start with the first episode of the series. I don’t like seeing unfinished tasks.”

Another added: ”You really have to put a button on the “continue watching” list so we can eliminate the ones we don’t want to watch anymore.”

“Why must Netflix make you jump through hoops to remove something from your 'continue watching' list?” one user asked.

Android users wanting to delete anything from their “Continue Watching” row will now be able to do so.

People with iOS devices will have to wait a tiny bit longer.

All you have to do is a click the “more” icon that is available underneath the title, and then select the “remove from row” button.
